What Makes a Business Website Generate More Enquiries?

What makes a business website generate more enquiries: a clear value proposition, specific calls to action, simpler forms, genuine proof and fast follow-up.

By Web Designers Dubai

Websites that generate enquiries usually get a handful of basics right. They make it obvious what the business does and who it’s for, make the next step easy, remove reasons to hesitate, and are backed by a team that replies quickly. No design change can guarantee more enquiries, because demand, pricing and reputation matter too, but these are the parts within your control.

Say what you do in the first screen

When someone lands on your homepage or a service page, the first screen should answer three questions without scrolling: what do you offer, who is it for, and where? Check this on a phone, where the first screen is much smaller than on a laptop.

Compare these two headlines:

  • “Excellence in every detail”
  • “Office and retail fit-outs across Dubai, from design to handover”

The first could belong to any business. The second tells the right visitor they’re in the right place. Add a short supporting line and one clear call to action, and they know what to do next.

Use calls to action that say what happens next

“Submit” and “Learn more” don’t tell anyone much. Specific calls to action set expectations and feel lower-risk:

  • “Request a site visit”
  • “Get a quote for your fit-out”
  • “Book a table”
  • “Chat with us on WhatsApp”

Give each page one main action and repeat it at natural points: after the introduction, after your proof and at the end. On mobile, a slim bar with WhatsApp and call buttons keeps contact within reach without covering the content.

Make forms easy to complete

Every extra field is another reason to give up. Ask only for what you need to reply well: usually a name, a phone number or email address, the service they’re interested in and a short message.

Small details make a difference:

  • Label each field clearly and mark the optional ones
  • Accept phone numbers in different formats, with or without +971
  • Use a dropdown for the service so people don’t have to guess what to write
  • Show helpful error messages next to the field, not just at the top of the form
  • After submission, confirm what happens next and when they can expect a reply
  • Test the whole form on a phone, from start to finish

If you want to ask about budget or timing, consider making those fields optional or offering broad choices. Some people are happy to share; others will leave if forced.

Offer the channels people actually use

People have different preferences. Some want to send a quick WhatsApp message, some want to call, and some prefer email or a form so they can explain properly. Offer all of them, and make each one easy to use on mobile.

A click-to-WhatsApp link with a pre-filled message, such as “Hi, I’m interested in a kitchen renovation”, gives people an easy way to start. If you serve both Arabic and English speakers, say which languages your team can reply in.

Show proof that’s real

Visitors want evidence that you’ve done this before. The most persuasive proof is specific and checkable:

  • Real projects with photos and a short explanation of the brief
  • Reviews people can verify, such as your Google reviews
  • Named clients or projects, where you have permission to share them
  • Certifications and memberships you actually hold
  • Photos of your real team and premises

Avoid fake testimonials, stock photos dressed up as your team and vague claims. People are good at spotting them, and they undermine the genuine proof you do have. As an example of labelling work honestly, our portfolio marks concept projects separately from client work.

Answer pricing questions

Price is one of the first things people want to know. If your site says nothing about it, some visitors will simply ask a competitor instead.

You don’t have to publish a price list. Options include:

  • Showing starting prices or typical ranges, if your services allow it
  • Explaining what affects the price
  • Describing how quoting works, and whether quotes are free
  • Answering common cost questions in a short FAQ

Even a brief explanation reassures people that an enquiry won’t lead to an awkward surprise.

Keep pages fast

A slow page can lose a visitor before they’ve read your headline, particularly on mobile data. Compress images, avoid heavy sliders and video backgrounds where they don’t help, and limit third-party scripts. Our guide on improving website speed covers this in more detail.

Build a page for each service

Someone searching for restaurant interior design in Dubai is better served by a page about restaurant interiors than by a general homepage. Service-specific pages let you speak directly to each audience, show relevant work and use a call to action that fits.

They matter for advertising too. If you run Google or social media ads, send each ad to the page that matches it, not the homepage. For search, dedicated pages give each service a clear place to be found; our SEO services cover that side of things.

Measure what’s working

Without tracking, it’s hard to know what to improve. Set up conversion tracking for the actions that count: form submissions, WhatsApp clicks, phone clicks and email clicks. Then look at which pages and traffic sources lead to them.

Two simple habits help:

  • Ask each new enquiry how they found you, and note it down
  • Review the numbers monthly rather than daily, and change one thing at a time so you can see what made a difference

Remember that a WhatsApp click isn’t the same as a sent message, and a call click isn’t a completed call. Treat them as signals, alongside what your team actually sees in their inbox and on their phones.

Reply quickly

A well-designed website can’t do much if enquiries sit unanswered for days. People often contact several businesses at once, so a prompt, helpful reply counts for a lot.

  • Decide who is responsible for each channel
  • Send an automatic confirmation for form enquiries, saying when you’ll reply
  • Use WhatsApp Business away messages outside working hours
  • Keep track of enquiries in one place, even a simple spreadsheet or CRM
  • Follow up once if someone goes quiet

A quick checklist

  • The first screen says what you do, who for and where
  • Each page has one clear, specific call to action
  • Forms ask only for what you need
  • WhatsApp, phone and email are easy to reach on mobile
  • Proof is real and checkable
  • Pricing questions are addressed
  • Pages load quickly
  • Each main service has its own page
  • Conversion tracking is in place
  • Someone owns follow-up
